IM Niagara Club SRL successfully executed a comprehensive infrastructure modernization project at its premium sports and wellness facility in Chișinău. By integrating high-performance energy-efficient windows and an advanced dehumidification system, the company addressed critical operational inefficiencies, reduced energy consumption, and minimized its carbon footprint. Backed by the EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line, this strategic initiative demonstrates how financial incentives can successfully drive sustainable corporate transformation in the commercial wellness sector.
The company’s high-standard wellness and sports ecosystem caters to a diverse demographic. The facility offers an expansive suite of services designed to fulfill all aspects of modern health. The core of the fitness ecosystem features a state-of-the-art, well-appointed gym alongside dedicated studios hosting a wide variety of fitness and martial arts classes. For aquatics and relaxation, the facility hosts a large-scale indoor swimming pool supplemented by luxury thermal zones, which include a sauna and a traditional Turkish bath. The company also captures the family demographic through a specialized kids club managing children’s sports activities, youth fitness, and structured swimming lessons. Nutritional services complement the physical training through an on-site health cafe providing a curated selection of nutrient-dense, healthy foods.
Operating a high-end, multi-zone wellness facility with a large indoor pool, the company faced the challenge of high energy inputs. High relative humidity from the aquatics zone threatened building integrity and indoor air quality, while thermal leakage through older window systems inflated HVAC operational costs. The leadership team required a solution that would preserve the club’s premium guest experience while drastically lowering utility overhead and environmental impact.
To resolve these inefficiencies, IM Niagara Club SRL launched an energy-efficient renovation framework centered on structural and mechanical upgrades. The project capitalized on international green financing mechanisms to optimize capital expenditure. The total investment reached €199,290.63 inclusive of VAT, funded via the EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line. The 10% EU-funded investment incentive accelerated the return on investment through a net grant value of sixteen thousand euros, which the company received after successful project verification.
The new dehumidification system successfully stabilized the indoor microclimate, eliminated moisture-related structural risks, and lowered the ambient energy load required to heat the aquatics zone. Structurally, the improvements triggered immediate reductions in annual energy demand, generating significant savings and drastically reducing the volume of greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere. Beyond these operational and environmental efficiency metrics, the investment dramatically enhanced the company’s brand equity by aligning luxury wellness with environmental responsibility, strengthening its market positioning as a forward-thinking, green enterprise.
