Blue Shark SRL – Processing, distribution and sales of seafood

The Moldovan company Blue Shark SRL was established in 2012 as a representative company of the Romanian firm “Ocean Fish”. The main activity of the company includes the distribution and sales of fresh fish, seafood, semi-finished products (preserves), as well as a wide range of frozen fish and ready-made packaged seafood products. In order to further increase its competitive position in the market, the company decided to invest in purchase of modern equipment and vehicles for seafood processing, packaging and distribution. The investment also allows the company to perform more aspects of the processing activities in Moldova. Apart from improvements in the product quality and distribution processes, the investment also generates a 27.3% reduction in energy consumption, making the company more energy and cost efficient.

The investment was financed with a EU4Business-EBRD Credit line loan and the company received free-of-charge technical support from the team of international experts for the optimization of the investment. After the successful project verification Blue Shark SRL received 15% of the loan amount as a grant cashback, funded under the EU4Business initiative of the European Union.
