Rutador SRL – Road & Bridges Construction

Rutador SRL is a Moldovan construction company that was founded in 2001. The main activities of the company include construction of motorways, roads, airports and buildings for sports activities. In addition, the company produces materials for road construction such as concrete, asphalt, bitumen emulsion, which is sold to other companies.

For more than a decade of operating this business at the site owned by Rutador SRL, the technical infrastructure became outdated, resulting in a decrease in product quality and product output. In order to improve this situation and to increase its competitiveness the company decided to invest in new production equipment. As a result of the investment the company also vastly improved its environmental impact as well as the health and safety of its workers.

The investment was financed with a EU4Business-EBRD Credit line loan and the company received free-of-charge technical support from the team of international experts to optimize the investment. After the successful project verification Rutador SRL received 15% of the loan amount as a cashback grant, funded under the EU4Business initiative of the European Union.

With the investment, the company now meets wide variety of European standards, including:

    • Directive 2006/42/EC on machinery, and amending Directive 95/16/EC (recast)
    • Directive 2014/35/EU relating to the making available on the market of electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits
    • Directive 2014/30/EU relating to electromagnetic compatibility (recast).
    • Directive 2003/10/EC – Minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents (noise)
    • Directive 2008/50/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2008 on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe
    • Directive 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control (Recast)
    • Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency, amending
    • Directives 2009/125/EC and 2010/30/EU and repealing
    • Directives 2004/8/EC and 2006/32/EC Text with EEA relevance
    • Regulation (EU) N*305/2011 laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing Council
    • Directive 89/106/EEC Text with EEA relevance
